Photogrpahy FAQ
I love capturing people who are in love, and all the emotions of the day.
I started my business in 2000 as a DJ, and expanded into photography in 2004.
Their trust. Trusting me to capture their wedding day, trusting me with help to plan their day, coordinate with other vendors, and make sure the day goes as planned.
Yes, all the images on my website are current, and I also have separate website for delivering my clients galleries.

I shoot what is now referred to as "true to color", which translates to "as shot, with minimal edits". I avoid trending styles, because trending styles/filter eventually go out of style, and I don't want the end product I deliver to be something my clients to be something they would be less than proud to show.
With that said, I know that most of my clients will do some form of filter-based editing of their images, and I am fine with that.
The "thank you" I receive from my clients. It means that from start to finish, all the process I have developed & refined since 2000 have effectively worked.
Most people would expect something in line with "Photography is my passion", I have always enjoyed it, and the mastering the technical aspects.
By listening to my client vision of the day, taking notes, and making sure the little details are covered. Things like having a nice pen handy for signing your marriage license, keeping a few ClifBars handy in case you missed breakfast, and are feeling wobbly.
I apply the 80/20 rule to may packages. The majority of my clients prefer their wedding day coverage, with an on-line gallery & two USB thumb drives. The pricing is set up for blocks of time 4-6, and 6-10 hours increments.
For the 20% who are looking for something larger or smaller, let's meet up, and discuss your specific needs.
Honestly, I have lost prospective clients because my prices are both too high and too low, and this depends on where they are located at, and what they are seeing in their local market.
Like many of my clients, I also have a day job. I punch in and punch out, but the benefits allow me to have a lower "Cost of Business", and like many people I the "I have to work X number of hours minus 33% for taxes to pay for this" mindset.
Could I charge more, yes. But I enjoy what I do for my clients, and while I could be greedy, I'd rather pass the savings on to you & be your photographer.
My pricing also factors in tax, so the prices are "out the door" with no surprises.
If I was charging an crazy amount, like photographer's who charge significantly more, I would do it to make a client feel like they were getting a deal.
In most cases, I get to work on editing your wedding the next day, and deliver your on line gallery in less than 7 days. I don't put a cap on the number of images I deliver. If the are good clean exposures, you get them, along with a few goof ball shots as well.
I shoot with a selection of Canon camera bodies with a variety of top-end lenses from Canon & Sigma.
I do quite well in either situations, if the venue is dark, I also bring strobe or constant lights. I am 100% guilty of bringing too much gear.
I shoot 100% of my clients works. I have supported other photographer's as an associate shooter, and the business practices do vary, with some weddings planned out, and their client getting some lame excuse a few day before, as they go shoot the more glamorous / deeper pocket wedding.
I also see it as a mutual disservice, your getting an unknown photographer, and I'm getting an unknown couple, and my style may be grossly different than the photographer you hired.
It hasn't happened yet (knock on wood), but I know several local photographers (with at least 5 years of experience) that would be willing to step it, and take over.
I am located in Silverdale, and for weddings on the coast, or in the greater Puget Sound region, there is no travel charge. For wedding that are far enough, where riving home would be dangerous, the most I would charge is just for the hotel room. Domestic travel out of the area does require a conversation.
